Located in East Gippsland 315 kilometres south east of Melbourne is the picturesque township of Lakes Entrance. Nine thousand years ago a vast system of rivers, lakes, lagoons and islands was enclosed by 140 kilometres of the most secluded, untouched ocean beaches in the world-to create the largest inland waterway system in Australia. Adjacent to one of those many inland waterways, on the north arm is Riviera Beach Resort.
The Resort is set in an intimate setting with just 7 single storey units, a games room and BBQ areas.
There’s so much to see and do at Lakes Entrance and the surrounding area both on and off the water. You can cruise the lakes taking in the spectacular scenery, enjoy a meal and drink on board or visit a winery by boat.
Stroll along the Jemmy’s Point Hill walking track to the lookout (Kalimna) where you can take in spectacular views of the Lakes system and the ninety mile beach. You may even come across a local artist capturing the scene on canvas.
You can hire your own boat to explore the lakes or maybe a canoe, paddle boat, aquabike, catamaran or paddleski is more your speed. Bikes are a great way to explore Lakes Entrance and can be also hired in town. If you want something a bit faster then take a Go Kart for a lap or two.
The Aquadome & Leisure Centre is sure to keep the kids happy with a 25 metre heated pool, toddlers and learner’s pool, spa, sauna & gym. There are floodlit tennis courts also available for hire. Look for the big pink golf ball and skull for a game of mini golf on The Esplanade.
Griffiths Shell Museum & Marine Display is one of the most visited attractions in Lakes established in 1962 and is recognised as one of the largest museum of natural sea life.
A short drive from Lakes Entrance is beautiful Lake Tyres and a 45 minutes drive will have you at Buchan Caves, one of the most spectacular natural formations you will ever see.
